NEW THURSDAY NIGHT FOR FOUR4!!!

Well it has been a sort of long time coming, so Four4 is calling it quits for the Legendary Disco Night at The Stagecoach Bar. We have been playing that night for over 7 years. Our friend Andre started that night about 6 years before us, so that night has been a huge success for almost 14 years! We had some really great nights there and also had some really horrible nights. All in all it was great times and great people. Thanks to everyone all who always made it happen for us. On a new note... we have a new night going down. LADIES NIGHT at the Town Square Tavern starting July 3rd and it will happen every Thursday with Vert-One and Mike Thunder and special guest from our crew will help us and the ladies get live! Come and check us out! It's going to be an amazing summer here in Jackson Hole so get ready to get down.

LIFE IS GREAT!!!

So I'm finally getting over from a weekend of drinking way too many Margs and way too many Stella's. My Sex and the City party at the Town Square Tavern went off and I had a great time. Great turn out with people throughout the whole bar and a steady dance floor all night. Come Sunday morning...10:00 and my head kind of hurts, but that doesn't stop me from going to Jackson Hole Film Festival's special film "199 Lives." A story about my favorite Nut Case of a guy, Travis Pastrana. If you do not know who Travis is... well I don't know what to say other than this kid takes the word EXTREME and rips it apart with whatever he can get his hands on... mostly from twisting the throttle of his RM 250 dirt bike. He basically transforms himself from a world class motocross racer to the worlds best freestyle motocrosser ever. This film is not just about him hucking his meat, but his life from a person with a passion for Adrenalin. The double back flip at the 2006 X games was definitely impressive enough, but there are some pretty amazing footage of him jumping out of planes with no parachute, launching into the Grand Canyon with a girl holding on to him riding a motorcycle (road bike) and rally car racing. If you take Evel Knievel's life and multiply it by 10, you'll get Travis Pastrana's. And he's just 24 years old. He is surprisingly a living legend willing to take these calculated risks with the reward of living. Check out the flick when it comes out on DVD. In the meantime watch this teaser. Life is good man... keep it exciting!

HOW IT WAS

I am not going to sugar coat this. I miss this fucking kid!!! Chris Blank aka KING WEEP. He passed in November 2005 and things have not been the same since. It is like that when good people and good things pass regardless. This dude was special though... you could see it in his eyes. Soft spoken, fragile, righteous, soulful, skinny, loud, talented... you get it. People gravitated towards him as if he was some sort of soothsayer... a saint who had come to tell you that everything will be o.k. no matter what goes down. He was a chick and  a dude magnet, if you will.  A light would shine on him and he made people feel warm around him. Granted sometimes I really wanted to kick his ass in, but that's what brother do... right? 23 years is a long time to be close friends with someone. We stayed pretty close and solid from the beginning... High School, Skateboarding, New York, Snowboarding, Vermont, Skateboarding, Arizona, Skateboarding, New York, Skateboarding, Philly, Skateboarding, Wyoming, Snowboarding, Skating, Climbing, Fishing, Mountainbiking, Music, DJing etc...Damn those were great times. Getting too heavy... this kid was solid and he is missed by many people that he met everywhere he was. Let's all tilt our heads up and praise the man KING WEEP. He is always with us. Take it light and stay righteous... PEACE MY BROTHER.

POSITIVE

This is part of the change I was talking about in my last post. A little bit of outdoor exercise and cleansing of the soul and some powder in May. This has been a long time coming. Thanks to Russ' persistence and a little... I mean plenty of snow in the mountains, we set off on our trip. Although we did not summit, we still had an amazing time. We definitely are looking forward to some more trips in the mountains. MGMT was the soundtrack of our our trip. These guys have mad style and they are definitely one of my favs right now... check it!

CHANGE HAS COME

I have said "change has come" quite a few times in my life... since I probably started skateboarding when I was 15. I am pushing 40 now and the change is upon me once again. I will not go into details of my personal life, so with that said, I am in the mists of making a new mixtape. It's ok to call it a mixtape, I swear. This is not a type of mixtape that you make when your trying to get your girlfriend back but a mixtape for your listening pleasure or however else you want to get down to it. I will drop a couple of tracks here until I actually have the mix completely dialed... hopefully sooner than later. Thanks for listening because sometimes I have a hard time... peace.

SPRING!!!???

Spring is here...at least for today. It is 70 degrees here in Jackson Hole and wow is it a beautiful day. There is still quite a bit of snow in the mountains which means more skiing for the masses. Me, I am ready for the warm and some dirt. A little fishing, maybe some nice hikes with the Fam. No more snow dammit! Sorry about that you snow freaks but I'm sure I'm not alone. Anyhow here are a few tracks that I have been digging lately...Enjoy!

BOOM FOR THE MENTAL MADNESS!!!

What can we say... what an amazing evening!!! Talk about bringing back the Town Mike Thunder and Four4 presented a mixtape release party at 43 North Bar and I would say this was one of the best nights of the winter and what a show it was. The evening started off with Richie Beats ruling it with his marathon eclectic mix of beats. Rich always gets the crowd going with his great stage presence and positive vibe. Following Rich was C-Dub and wow... what mad original style this dude brings to the stage. A one man band with guitar, kick pedal with a make shift snare/bass kick, a sampler and other random things strung up on things. Twangy distorted blues riffs mixed with a little of western swing, throw in some samples and beats and there you have it, C-Dub at his finest. His part of the show was truly personal and one of a kind. Check him out on myspace and get one of his cd's! Following C-Dub was Hef and Twan from Biomecca stepped up and spit out some positive lyrics for the pumped up crowd. Always great to hear these cats live, it brings out their true form which is super tight. The highlight of the night was Mr. Mikey Thunder himself throwing down his new mixtape remix cd type thing. He rocked the whole place into a frenzy with his remixes of AC/DC's Thunderstruck, Santogold's Creator, Tribe and even sampled Rob and Big from MTV. Thick beats pulsated the whole place while every person in the place was completely enthralled in the mix. Things really heated up when Mikey announced his scratch session! This was one of the finer scratch sessions I've seen him do and wow...it was completely ridiculous!!! I was video taping the evening and I had run out of tape before that part and I was so pissed that I missed it, but It is forever burned into the back of every one's heads, I'm sure. He was definitely unstoppable that night and he really made the night. I had to step up after him and I was super nervous and slightly buzzed. I think my highlight was maybe the remix of Smells Like Teen Spirit! Kenny followed me with a poptastic set that kept the crowd going and going and going! All in all, the night was seriously dope! The people were out in full dance party force for the end of the season. We had a great time and I hope we can do that again very soon. Check out Mike Thunder's "Boom For The Mental" mix below. Just click on the link and enjoy. If you are computer savvy...download it or just give Mikey a shout after 5pm... hence the Nocturnal Animal track...ha ha ha!!!

OB-1 HAS WON!

WOW! Debauchery! Debauchery! Debauchery! Complete madness last night at the Brew Pub. Standing room only if you could even stand up after just a couple hours of drinking Brew Pub beer and listening to loud Irish music. The freaks definitely came out at night and even at 9:00 in the morning when some of the hardcores started partying yesterday. Definitely one of the busiest nights that I have ever seen at the pub since we started spinning there. You could not walk through the crowd without getting spewed with beer. I was really nervous about playing traditional Irish music, but the people were completely backing it and raising their mugs and gettin' down! Mikey and Jersey showed up to step up to the pit of insanity and pure drunkenness. Both of those cats are Irish, so they actually new a quite a few of the tracks being played. I on the other hand...did not. I was was stoked to be rockin' different music for a change. We all had a great time and nobody spilled any beer on the equipment...bonus!!! Thanks to the Brew Pub crew, the OB-1 beer and the people that attended. We'll see you soon. Happy drinking!

Another St.Patrick's Day

Here we are again on the verge of another crazy St. Patty's Day.  Before we go out and get crazy we should remember why we celebrate this day in America so much. If it wasn't for the Irish immigrant's coming over here working hard, building the railroad's ( along side Asian and Black's) we wouldn't be where we are today as the only Super Power we are today. So today raise your glasses and toast the hard working Irish immigrant's that made this country F@#! ggggreat!

Another Evening

These dudes next to me...they hold it down! Four4 would not be the same if it weren't for Jersey and Thunder. They are always there for me even when I don't need them. Big props to these cats...thanks!
